BShep climbs to fifth in LOLMDS' Mountain Moonshine Classic

Brandon Sheppard hit the road with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) over the weekend to compete in the two-day Mountain Moonshine Classic at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.).

After Friday night ended in a B-Main exit, Sheppard raced his way into Saturday’s $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic main event with a third-place finish in his heat. Taking the green in ninth, Brandon climbed four positions in the 60-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Brandon Overton, Ricky Thornton Jr., Ryan Gustin and Jonathan Davenport to the checkers.

On Sunday, Sheppard stopped at Ultimate Motorsports Park (Friendship, N.C.) for the inaugural Sidney Langston Memorial. With a $15,000 payday up for grabs in the feature, Brandon was an early retiree on lap 17 while running fourth due to lingering effects from contact with the wall on the opening circuit.
